What is WAH?

“WeAreHomegrown” is a marketplace specifically designed for and to promote local businesses and products within our community. Our platform aims to connect our local community with homegrown businesses, bringing together those who are passionate about supporting all that is local.

How does WAH work?

Local businesses subscribe to our platform to showcase what they have to offer. Consumers can search by category for their products or services.  Once a business is chosen, consumers get to view the Vendor offerings and business profile. They may also leave a review after a service is provided.

How do I create a listing for my business?

To create an account, click the Add your listing and follow the easy 5-step listing process. You can choose a subscription that suits your needs. You will be prompted to provide your email address, create a password and fill in some basic information. You can access your account dashboard once you have completed the registration process and been approved by WAH.

Can I edit or delete my listing after I posted it?

Yes, you can edit or delete your listing from your account dashboard. Simply locate the listing you want to modify or remove, and you’ll find options to edit the content or delete the ad entirely.

Review your ad before submitting it. Your ad will be forwarded to the administrator for final review, and your listing will be active in 24-48 hours, and you will receive a notification. 

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, you can. Our subscriptions are on a monthly recurring basis, and payments are made in advance. Therefore, should you want to cancel your subscription, please sign into your account and follow the links to cancel your account. Once we receive the notification for your cancellation, your account will be cancelled.

How can I search for products or services on the platform?

You can easily search for products or services by using the search bar at the top of the page. Enter keywords related to what you’re looking for and see a list of relevant ads. You can also click on a category to see what else is available.

How do I contact a seller?

Each ad will have a contact form and contact details. You can reach them through either option. Do take note of their operating hours. If you need any help with a seller, please get in touch with us.

How do I ensure the safety of my transactions?

As with any online platform, be cautious of giving your bank details, login details, personal information and addresses to any supplier. We at WeAreHomegrown do our utmost to ensure only legitimate businesses use our platform. Please do your due diligence.

We appreciate any reviews you want to give to a supplier, as this helps build their credibility.

Does WAH have an App?

No, unfortunately, we chose not to create one as yet as this will add to costs and we want to ensure we keep the site affordable for our Vendors.

Is WAH available outside South Africa?

No, as WAH is a proudly South African website providing services to promote homegrown businesses in South Africa.

How do I refer my friends to WAH?

Click on the share button and complete your friend’s email address – the website link will then be shared with them via email along with a short message if you would like to add a message.

How do I review a Vendor on WAH?

Select the relevant Vendor profile and complete the Review link to add any feedback on the service and/or product received. Remember, reviews assist the community in deciding which Vendor to choose based on previous connections.
